- Dom was born in London in 1989. Specifically, Dom grew up in North London where there are excellent Tube trains and therefore had no particular reason to ever go south of the river until Randi came along.
- Randi was born in California in 1993. She grew up in the land of sunny beaches, pool parties and mountain hikes and had never seen frost in her life before going to school in New Hampshire.
- After both moving to Chicago, Randi and Dom went on their first date for drinks at a bar near the Belmont brown line stop. Randi wore heels, regretted it, ended up walking barefoot and had to explain her bleeding feet to concerned roomates.
- Because Dom wanted to see "as many US states as possible", Randi ended up driving across more of the Midwest than she ever imagined. Highlights included the world's largest Christmas store in Michigan, the world's first concrete street in Ohio and the world's best cajun food at Yats.
- After a few years they moved into an apartment together with Amanda, who found them on Craigslist and wasn't put off by having an introductory meal at a terrifying restaurant / spa / brothel. Together they played many, many, many games of Dominion (which Randi mostly won).
- Then one April morning Randi and Dom donned matching Settlers of Catan t-shirts and set off for the Court House to get married. Their friend AJ brazenly ignored the judge's 'no filming' orders and recorded their official marriage ceremony.
- After having exhausted all of the Indian food Chicago had to offer, Randi and Dom bid farewell to the Windy City and set off to South America for two months of travel. To this day, they still can be heard happily humming the Unimarc grocery store jingle. 'La vida es mas facil, super unimarc!'
- They then took their travels to Asia, where they accidentally broke the news to their Thai jungle trekking guide that Obama was no longer the US President and somebody... else was now in charge.
- Five months and ten countries later, Randi and Dom landed in London where Dom's mum welcomed them at Heathrow Airport with baby carrots per Randi's request.
- Overcoming Dom's childhood fear of venturing south of the river, Randi and Dom now spend many an evening walking up and down the Waterlink Way, Randi overly enthused about how green the trees are; how white the clouds are; and how blue the river is, while Dom stares lovingly at the train tracks which parallel it.
